Our Experts

Jean-Sébastien Rousseau

Jean-Sébastien Rousseau is a mobilizer within the LGBTQIA2+ communities of which he is a proud member. Having experienced crystal meth addiction and recovery himself, he regularly speaks out on these topics while raising awareness of related issues among those affected. As part of the psychosocial team at the L'Actuel medical clinic, he has accompanied patients in their efforts to deal with drug use and has created initiatives to better welcome those affected in clinical settings. He is currently the associate director of the HIV community at Gilead Canada.

Maxime Blanchette

Maxime Blanchette is a professor in social work at UQAT. He has been working for several years as a social worker with gays, bisexuals and other men who have sex with men ( gbMSM) who engage in sexualized substance use practices. His research to date has focused on developing clinical recommendations for intervention with gbMSM who have problematic substance use in a sexual context, as well as on the development of good practices that can guide the development of integrated services that take into account the complex links between gender, sexual orientation, and social and health needs.

Daniel-Jonathan (DJ) Laroche

Daniel-Jonathan (DJ) conducts outreach, workshops, and one-on-one support at Kontak and provides risk reduction information and materials to gbMSM in Montreal. He has been an outreach worker for many years, is in the gay leather fetish scene, and is here to support gbMSM who party and play. KONTAK DJ in French or English.
